3D Modeling
Dates: June 28 - July 2

Calling all future architects and digital designers! Campers attending this camp will learn the basics of Computer Added Design (CAD), using the free software program SketchUp. After the basics are learned, campers will design a simple 3D name tag that will be printed on one of the classroom’s 3D printers. Campers will also investigate bridges and buildings from around the world using LEGO® Architecture kits and K’Nex to build models of famous structures.

Want to be a movie star? Learn how to act in front of the camera from actor Steve Sherman, a lecturer in acting at the University of Tennessee and instructor with the Knoxville Children's Theatre. Campers will enjoy making mock commercials and their own original short film! Get ready to be creative, improve your acting skills and become a filmmaker!
Adventures in Writing

Do fantastic stories grow inside your brain? Have you ever wanted to write your own stories or novel but didn’t know where to start? Are you amazed by The Lightning Thief, Harry Potter, Matilda, and everything in between? Then Adventures in Writing is the camp for you! Using the Snowflake method, Three-Act Structure, silly activities, and campus excursions, Ms. Conley will help you explore and develop your inventive ideas into a “for real” piece of fiction.

Barnyard Bonanza

Oink, Moo, Cock-a-Doodle-Doo! Barnyard Bonanza camp is just for you! If you like playing in the dirt, hitching up your wagon, or livin’ high on the hog, put on your work boots and join us for a week of fun! At our home on the range, campers will spend their days crafting, reading, playing games, and learning all about barnyard animals! If you join us, we’d be as happy as a pig-in-mud!

Books, Baking and Buckets of Fun

Does your child enjoy books and baking? Books by well known authors are used to launch a variety of activities, such as baking, making books and other creative hands-on projects designed to stimulate reading and language skills. Your child is sure to enjoy this camp, cover to cover.

Breakout Camp

Can you escape a desert island, stop the zombie apocalypse and solve history’s greatest mysteries...all in one week? Only at Breakout Camp! Like the increasingly popular escape rooms, campers will work together to solve puzzles and “breakout” of a variety of scenarios before the timer ends; all the while developing teamwork, critical thinking and communication skills. At the end of the week, campers will work in groups to create and share their own breakout games.

Camp Hogwarts

Calling all Muggles! Summer is coming and that means it’s time for CAMP HOGWARTS! First Years... find out which house you’re assigned to in the sorting hat ceremony. Bond with your prefects and housemates. Make chocolate frogs. Test your skills in Potions and Herbology class. Visit Hogsmeade, frolic with mystical creatures and help your house battle for the Quidditch and House Cups. Join your fellow witches and wizards as we use all seven books to guide us through a magical week of Pottermania! Note: Buddy Requests are not honored in this camp. Friends may be placed in separate houses. Please take this into consideration before applying for this camp.

Chess Camp
- Session I: June 14 - 18 (Intermediate), Entering grades 1 - 6
- Session II: July 12 - 16 (Advanced), Entering grades 3 - 8

Director: Leonard Dickerson, Chess Life Master and three-time Tennessee state champion
Do you love chess and want to improve your game? Then join Leonard Dickerson for a week of strategic learning. Session I is mainly for chess players who may not have much competitive play experience. Campers work on piece mechanics, opening strategies, tactics, and general principles. The complexity of the material covered depends upon the skill levels of the campers. Session II is for players who have ideally participated in tournaments or a previous camp and would like to improve their tournament play. Those in the Advanced Camp work on understanding combinations, critical endgame techniques, positional analysis, and team play. In both camps, there will be an ongoing tournament. At each camp’s completion, each camper will receive a personal evaluation, as well as a chess set (if needed) or book.

Coach Owen’s Summer Hangout

If you want to design a bottle-style rocket ship and launch it into the air, and play some of the coolest games around, then Coach Owen's Summer Hangout is the perfect camp for you! Each day, campers will enjoy a variety of fun P.E activities such as Pirate's Gold, Star Wars Rebel Assault, Medic, Capture the Flag, and lots more! Plus, there'll be some sportier options like kickball, soccer, frisbee. But that's not all, we'll have opportunities to draw, play card games, and end each day cooling off with popsicles, magic tricks and storytelling! Of course no proper summer hangout would be complete without shooting cans and balloons at our BB range (goggles, BB rifles and NAA and BSA certified safety instruction provided). So, come and enjoy Hanging-out with us! Can't wait to see you there!
Double Play Science and Games
Dates: July 6 - 9 *(four day week)

This camp will develop your mind and body with both science and games. Learn to think critically and solve science riddles, and have a blast while doing it! Make a balloon brain and protect it with a homemade helmet, then see who survives a “crash.” Create “foam-er-ators” and we’ll shoot them outside. We’ll also make leaf tokens, tornadoes and survival rafts, test groovy lava lamps, and learn lots of magic science tricks. For the other half of the day, we’ll play cooperative team building games like Army Navy, American Gladiators, Scram Ball, Scatterball, Dodgeball, Prison Dodgeball, Mighty Mouse, Pac-Man, Museum, and lots more!

Dungeon Masters

Hail and well met, traveler! If it's an adventure you seek, you need look no further! Join the party as we seek glory, wonder and riches in the fantastical world of the tabletop role-playing game! In this camp, we will learn the basics of playing Dungeons & Dragons® fifth edition, including character creation, role-playing, dungeon design, and much more! Prepare to embark on the ultimate quest!

Engineering Camp
Dates: June 7 - 11

Game controllers, robots and rockets are all fun to use, but have you ever tried building them? Working in teams, campers will learn the steps of the engineering process in order to design and create exciting gadgets. Campers will then put their new knowledge to the test in various engineering challenges. Some of the activities may include building and racing cars made from recycled materials, creating game controllers that will hook up to a computer, and tinkering with robots using toy motors and everyday objects.

Eureka! Mythology Camp

εὕρηκα heúrēka! You have found it! The perfect camp for those wanting to venture into Greek folklore and legends. Scavenger hunts, catapult making, chariot rides, and the ancient tradition of “Tog-a”-war await those campers bold enough to partake. We will investigate the infamous olympians, heroes and monsters whose adventures have withstood the test of time! So prepare for a week of great discoveries and activities which will bring these ancient myths to life!

Fairy Camp

If you believe in fairies, don’t just clap your hands; join us for a “fairy-tastic” week of magical adventures! Fairies will twirl their way through a whole host of pixie-perfect activities: a fairy naming ceremony, earning their wings, listening to and telling fairy stories, making fairy crafts, water play, building fairy homes, fairy dances and tea parties, and “flying” with their very own fairy wings on nature walks. Experience the magic with us!

Hip Hop Fly Girls

Girlfriends...are you ready to “get down with your bad self?” Join us for this camp’s 12th year at Camp Webb. In this classic camp of awesomeness, learn hip hop dance moves, including stomp dances, row dancing, jump and thump, and pop-and-lock skills. No prior dance training is required to learn street combinations with “kickin’”moves; just comfortable clothing and sneakers.

Junior Scientist
- Session I: June 21 - 25

Kaboom! Through exciting experiments, campers will learn simple chemistry and create erupting volcanoes, ocean waves, fireworks in a jar, and invisible ink. While learning about water, air, bugs, forces, and plants, they’ll construct rockets to launch, cargo boats, bug habitats, and even marshmallow catapults! Once campers learn about frogs, they’ll take home an aquatic frog in his/her own personally created habitat (optional).

LEGO® Robotics
Dates: June 21 - 25

Ages: Entering grades 5 - 7

The simplest beginnings lead to great things as campers learning computer programming using the LEGO® Mindstorms software to program LEGO® NXT robots. Basic movements will be enhanced by the introduction of touch, light and ultrasonic sensors that will help guide the robots through multiple tasks. Engineering design will be incorporated later in the week as campers combine their programming knowledge with their LEGO® building skills to create SumoBots that will battle for supremacy in the Dojo. Don’t miss out on this fun and exciting camp! No previous experience with robotics or computers is necessary.

Materials Science

What makes steel strong, and why does Silly Putty bounce? Find out in a week of experimental learning about matter! Some of the activities may include making paint from milk, growing crystal forests, extracting copper metal from minerals, creating stretchy slimes, and making models from plastics. Under the experienced supervision of Dr. Lawrie, campers will even make fiber optic wires out of glass!

Mock Trial Camp

WE OBJECT… to anyone overlooking the thrilling and mind stimulating camp that is Mock Trial Camp. Exhibit A: if you love to think critically, create and execute detailed arguments, and take on the persona of a professional lawyer then this camp is perfect for you! Exhibit B: campers will have the opportunity to examine witness statements, partake in a fabricated trial, and make objections as well as closing arguments. Let there be order in the court and a week full of exhilarating fun commence!

Nature Discovery

Back again for its 14th year! Get ready for some “wild” fun at Nature Discovery Camp. Spend your days catching critters, investigating habitats and learning about the natural world. Campers will safely catch aquatic and terrestrial animal species and map their distribution in the Camp Webb habitat. Campers will also learn how to lessen their impact on the environment while having lots of fun with games, activities and crafts.

Outdoor Art Creations

Todd Christopher (National Wildlife Federation’s Green Hour) said this: “There may be no better way to ensure the wellbeing of the natural world tomorrow than to introduce children to its many small wonders today.” If you are passionate about art, nature and love the outdoors, this is the camp for you! We will create outdoor art, from ceramic birdhouses to Andy Goldsworthy inspired, site-specific sculptures. Look closely at nature for shapes, forms, patterns, and textures and add them all to your palate.

Rock the Voice

Rock the Voice….where every camper is a star! Campers will jam out with their friends while creating their own covers of songs from some of music’s legends as well as today’s up and coming artists. But that’s not all! Throughout the week campers will learn some basic choreography, experiment with percussion instruments and even take a whack at ‘Stomp’ inspired endeavours. All this hard work will culminate in creative performance posters, personalized tie dyed t-shirts, and some rockin’ group performances!

Seussical Camp

From Mulberry Street to Whoville, come explore the world of Dr. Seuss! Make friends with Mayzie, Horton, the Lorax, Yertle the Turtle, and more. Who was Dr. Seuss? Learn his real name, what inspired him to write silly, rhyming stories and create funny characters, and more. Campers will become Dr. Seuss experts by designing truffula trees, eating Seussy snacks and creating Seussical crafts.

So be the star of your own story and join us for a week of fun on and off the page!

Calling all brave Jedi Knights! Join Commander Barton in a galaxy far, far away for Star Wars Camp! Use the force and make lightsabers, play Star Wars games, read books, and battle the Dark Side. Jedi Knights will create the Millennium Falcon, TIE fighter and X-wing Starfighter, as well as other crafts that are out of this world. Join us… it is your destiny!

Stop Motion Animation

In this innovative week, campers will create their own stop motion films from scratch. Animators will learn how animation works, build their own characters and sets, and shoot their own stop motion animation films. Summer Olympics

Become an Olympian for a week! Test your athletic skills in everything from soccer and volleyball to track & field and swimming. Each day will be packed with new events where you will compete on national teams for the Ultimate World Title. You’ll jump, splash, run, hit, throw, kick, volley, and slide your way to victory. Grab your Olympic torch and join us!

SuperGirl Dance Camp

Are your dancing shoes moving all the time? Do you love sharing ideas and making new friends? Dance frees our inhibitions to be who we really are. We will study what makes us feel best about ourselves and then dance our hearts out! Our dances will be inspired by a mix of contemporary, ballet, jazz, lyrical, and hip hop. Bring your creative ideas for making a scrapbook about dance, performing and making new friends.
The Science of Birds & Bugs

Do you love nature and want to learn more? Are you someone who appreciates the smaller things in life? Then look no further than The Science Birds & Bugs, a crash course in the discovery, identification and appreciation of the fascinating creatures with which we share our world. Embrace your inner Field Researcher as you learn about our native wildlife and conduct surveys of the vast wilderness that is the Webb School campus!

Ultimate Kids Concoctions
- Session I: July 12 - 16

Create wacky, wild and creative things to play with and observe. These projects inspire fun and innovation. Just a few of the crazy concoctions include: treasure stones with treasure inside, crystal paint, crystal farms to take home, custom-made silly scents, edible bracelets, fruity lip balm; and an Ultimate Kids’ Concoctions feast of individually-made homemade mini-foods, such as dragon candy, ladybug candy (no real insects involved), mini cakes, and pies!

Webb Landfill Band

Music is all around us, even in places that you never would have thought of before…a bucket, a shoe, plastic bottles. How is that even possible? Come learn how to make music wherever you go with the Webb Landfill Band this summer! At the end of a crafty and musical week campers will have at least 5-7 ‘landfill’ instruments that they can take home to share with friends and family! Get ready to teach the world how one camper’s trash is another camper’s musical instrument with the Webb ‘Landfill’ Band! Let the music begin!!!
