When parents enroll their child in Camp Webb, they are entrusting us with their most prized possession. We at Camp Webb take that responsibility very seriously by hiring the best people we can find. Counselors are chosen because of their maturity level, ability to be positive role models, experience with children, and level of enthusiasm. It is essential that the camp counselors we hire understand the important balance between creating a super-fun experience for the campers…and keeping them safe. Our senior counselors must be at least 18 years of age and have passed a screening and interview process. All staff members at Camp Webb participate in orientation and training programs prior to the arrival of the campers. We limit our Adventure Camp enrollment to an overall 1:4 staff-to-camper ratio.

Summer Jobs at Camp Webb

Full-time summer camp staff help fulfill the mission of our Adventure Camp program and inspire future generations; they find the balance between leader and friend, teachable moments and shenanigans! Part-time afternoon counselors have a unique opportunity to build relationships with campers who return week after week in our fun Aftercare program.

Pay starts at $14.25/hr for lifeguards, $14/hr for full-time staff, and $13/hr for part-time staff. Rate increases according to position, certifications, and experience in a camp or education environment.

Mandatory Staff Orientation
Full-time Staff (Adventure Camp): May 26 - May 29, 2026
Part-time staff (Aftercare): May 27 - May 28, 2026

Our camp season runs from June 1 - July 24. All full-time Adventure Camp staff will have the week of June 29 - July 3 off in the 2026 season!

Although Camp Webb’s focus is on fun, counselors must remember that they are responsible for every child’s safety and comfort level at camp. As a “substitute parent,” Camp Webb staff members have the responsibility to act as positive role models for their campers. We have high expectations of our staff.

Different Roles at Camp Webb

Camp Webb requires all senior staff applicants to be at least 18 years old by the start of camp. All applicants must be at least high school graduates, but college students are strongly preferred.

General Counselor (Now hiring!)

Summer camp counselors will be responsible for the day-to-day safety and supervision of a group of campers. General counselors will be with their campers at all times taking them to and from activity areas, lunch, etc. They are expected to be a friend, mentor, and role model to children, and a good teammate to their fellow staff members. Supervision duties include 18 campers and 1-2 Counselors in Training. Full-time hours, Mon - Fri.

Activity Staff (Now hiring!)

Responsible for conducting and implementing activity areas, such as Swimming, Archery, Sports, Nature Discovery, Arts and Crafts, Drama, Ropes Course, etc. Applicants must have proper knowledge and qualifications for these positions. For example, Lifeguards at the pool need current American Red Cross or equivalent Lifeguard Certification, CPR, etc. We will pay for your training! We also provide training for our Ropes Course Counselors. Applicants for activity areas are expected to design and execute lesson plans and programs geared for all different age groups. Full-time hours, Mon-Fri.

Aftercare Co-Director (now hiring!)

Aftercare Counselor (part-time • Now hiring!)

Aftercare Counselors lead children through a rotation of activities in our extended care program. Counselors are responsible for safety and supervision, all while interacting with their campers ranging from 5-13 years old. This team has the capability to have a meaningful, positive impact on our Aftercare campers who attend week after week. Prior experience working with children is preferred. Must have a pleasant, fun-loving, professional demeanor. Part-Time Hours: 1:30 p.m. - 6 p.m. Mon – Fri.

Special Event Coordinator (now hiring!)

Social Media Coordinator

Spend the day traveling to various camps capturing campers and staff having fun through photos and videos! The social media coordinator works closely with the Camp Photographer, and is solely responsible for social media content creation and posting. Photography and photo editing experience is a must, and videography experience is a plus. Knowing the ins and outs of social media, including content creation apps & current trends would also be helpful!

Camp Photographer (now hiring!)

Spend the day traveling to various camps capturing campers and staff having fun through photos and videos! This creator works closely with the Social Media Coordinator, and is solely in charge of producing our end-of-week highlight video for Adventure Camp. Photography experience is a must, and videography experience is a plus (even if it's just mobile device video). Knowing the ins and outs of photo editing, general know-how with iMovie or comparable software, and experience working with children would be helpful!

Lifeguard Manager

Responsible for all risk management at the pool, as well as supervising a staff of lifeguards. The manager will coordinate the daily rotation of staff, take an active role in providing pool surveillance when campers are present, assist in pool maintenance, and implement the Emergency Action Plan. When the pool is not in use, lifeguards join in the general merriment of summer camp activities and provide other support to our Adventure Camp program. The applicant must be American Red Cross LG certified. Full-time hours.

Lifeguard (Now hiring!)

Provide supervision & surveillance, ensure a safe environment, and help prevent/manage injuries at the summer camp pool. Assist in the management of the physical operation of the pool facilities and equipment. Must be American Red Cross LG certified (we will pay for your training)! When the pool is not in use, lifeguards join in the general merriment of summer camp activities and provide other support to our Adventure Camp program. Full-time hours.

Front Desk Coordinator

The Front Desk Coordinator assists in the administrative operation of the camp, including camper record keeping, customer service, camp-wide logistics, and front-end communication with camp families. They welcome families to camp each morning and handle early dismissals. This position involves considerable independent work as well as being an effective member of a larger team.
