Get to Know Us

Camp Webb is located on the campus of Webb School of Knoxville, which means our campers have access to state-of-the-art facilities and camp instructors who are leaders in their profession. We offer a wide variety of camp options, and there is so much diversity to our offerings that campers may attend summer camp for all 7 weeks while enjoying a different experience each week. Whether your child is an enthusiast of sports, science, art, cooking, theatre or technology, there is something for everyone with nearly 70 camp offerings to choose from! Everyone is welcome to attend Camp Webb. Campers do not have to be Webb School students and are admitted without regard to race, gender or ethnic background.

At Camp Webb, summer is a time when children can embrace the freedom of being a kid while having fun and discovering new things. Here, kids become part of a community that surrounds them with good people.  We are deliberate about providing an environment where campers feel safe, form positive relationships with other kids and adults, and are continually learning. You’ll be amazed at what your children can discover at camp. There is a lesson to be learned around every corner –at the top of the climbing wall, in the science lab, walking along a wooded trail, and on the basketball court. All of these lessons help prepare your children to make better life decisions... while they’re having fun. Sneaky, eh?

Since 1960, Camp Webb has been dedicated to fostering an environment of fun, safety, and learning for campers from all over Knoxville and surrounding counties. Campers of old enjoyed canoeing on Dead Horse lake, water skiing and sailing (off campus), swimming, lifesaving and scuba diving in our pool!  Other summer day camp activities included archery, riflery, and camping in the mountains! They even included some sports camps – Mr. Tarvin helped lead Coach Ray Mears’ basketball camp here as well!  Camp Webb got off to a great start with leaders like Mr. Snodgrass, Mr. Tarvin and Mrs. Snyder (Girlie). More recent directors like Coach David Meske, John Tatgenhorst, and Brad Cantrell have kept the traditions alive over the years! Camp Webb has changed through the years, but the objective has always been the same – to have a good time, respect each other, and encourage learning and independence!
